Important
Company Update from the President
(1st March 2010) |
|
Dear
Patrons,
We
are delighted to inform you that the Hobsons Bay
City Council are undertaking significant upgrades
to the theatrical lighting and sound systems in
the theatre auditorium of the Wiliamstown
Mechanics Institute, as well as renovation works
to the Supper Room foyer area, all of which are
due for completion at our home over the next few
months.
Bearing
this in mind, Williamstown Musical Theatre Company
has decided to postpone our scheduled May/ June
2010 production of BAT BOY – The Musical until
May 2011.
As
many of you know our much loved theatre is coming
up to her 150th birthday and what a
better way to celebrate than with this improvement
works. It will mean that WMTC will be well placed
to deliver more technically complex productions
well into the future for you all to enjoy.
We
will also take this opportunity to settle into our
newly appointed set building and storage facility
at the former EPA site building in
Queens Street
, Altona, which we will be sharing with several
other community groups.
During
this transitional time we are planning to present
a very special musical event at the beautiful
historic
Williamstown
Town Hall
on Saturday 26th June. We will send
along more information as soon as it becomes
available and very much look forward to seeing you
on the night.
I
would like to thank the production team of BAT BOY
– The Musical for all their hard work on the
show to date and their understanding and support
of the company’s current position.
Our
November 2010 production of Dirty Rotten
Scoundrels will go ahead as planned at the
Williamstown Mechanics Institute and promises to
be a show not to be missed!!!
I’d
like to thank you for your continuing support of
Williamstown Musical Theatre Company Inc.
Best
wishes
